Research Project: Monitoring, Implementing and Evaluating the Impacts of New Biological Control Programs for Flowering Rush and Common Crupina

Location: Pest Management Research

Project Number: 3032-21220-003-011-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2024
End Date: Sep 1, 2027

Objective:
To facilitate the establishment, optimize the implementation, and quantify the impacts of biological control, Cooperator will aid in: 1) quantifying the current status of weed and agent populations for key biological control systems; 2) monitor field release sites for ecological effects and biocontrol impacts; 3) aid in agent rearing, release, and monitoring in support of program implementation.

Approach:
We will quantify variation in weed densities, phenology, and ecological interactions through field surveys and small scale field experiments, develop and maintain rearing populations of key agents for release, and implement agent releases and monitoring.
