Objective:
To fund, implement and support international collaborative research projects and other related scientific activities from OIREC housed Soft Funds programs, through the Civilian Research & Development Foundation.
Approach:
The ARS Office of International Research Engagement and Cooperation (OIREC) supports global research and facilitates strategic partnerships to economize, share, and expand research capacity for ARS and partner countries and organizations. These synergistic collaborations provide direct benefits to the U.S. food, fiber, and fuel economies, and foster long-term productive relationships with the international agricultural research community. CRDF will provide coordination and support for scientific consultations and conferences between Embrapa scientists and ARS and other US scientists (e.g. Land Grant University scientists). Additionally, CRDF Global will provide project support for Embrapa and ARS scientists to facilitate the process of establishing preliminary dialogues and meetings for collaborative research projects with the goal of promoting the exchange and dissemination of scientific information.
