Research Project: Umbrella Agreement Between USGS (LMG) and ARS (HRSL) to Cooperate on Conservation Practice Research

Location: Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory

Project Number: 8042-66000-002-003-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2019
End Date: Aug 31, 2024

Objective:
This agreement sets forth, in general terms, the basis upon which the ARS (HRSL) and USGS (LMG) intend to cooperate. It serves as a reference umbrella agreement that sets forth the general terms and conditions under which the ARS (HRSL) and USGS (LMG) will coordinate and cooperate in activities involving remote sensing and land change analysis focused on agricultural practices as they affect water and other resources in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Approach:
As the ARS (HRSL) and USGS (LMG) are both partners in the multi-organizational Chesapeake Bay Program, they have been and will continue to cooperate in Bay focused research. This agreement is neither a fiscal nor funds obligation document; it simply establishes a reference for further potential Interagency agreements (IA) between the ARS (HRSL) and USGS (LMG) where in-kind or financial resources could be involved. Any such IAs would be developed separately but refer to this umbrella agreement as a basis.
