Objective:
Investigate the efficacy of insecticides for the control of important insect pests of sugarcane in Louisiana.

Approach:
Establish replicated field trials to determine the efficacy of labeled and experimental insecticides for managing economically important insect pests to include the sugarcane borer, the Mexican rice borer, and hemipteran insect. Treatments will include insecticide, rate of active ingredient, and timing of application. Data collection will include effect on insect population and reproduction, effect on beneficial insects, and effect on sugarcane yield. Data required for insecticide label registration will be collected in cooperation with product manufacture.
