Research Project: Statistical Design and Methods

Location: Environmentally Integrated Dairy Management Research

Project Number: 5090-12630-006-023-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: May 1, 2020
End Date: Sep 30, 2024

Objective:
Apply advanced experimental designs and statistical methods to six studies conducted at the Environmentally Integrated Dairy Management Research Unit: 1) Assessment of preservative application strategies to maximize recovery of nutrients from stored high-quality hays; 2) Novel approaches for incorporating cereal-grain forages into dairy production systems in north-central US; 3) Evaluation of triticale cultivars for use as dairy forages in the southwest US; 4) Using machine learning for predictive modeling of microbial contamination in groundwater; 5) Occurrence and distribution of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in groundwater of Kewaunee County, Wisconsin; 6) Influence of tillage and cover cropping on corn yield and soil properties.

Approach:
Utilize statistical analytical tools to evaluate agronomic, microbial, and environmental data generated by ARS.
