Research Project: Cooperative Agreement between USDA/ARS and the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global)

Location: Office of International Research Engagement and Cooperation

Project Number: 0210-22310-007-026-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2021
End Date: Dec 31, 2024

Objective:
To fund, implement and support international collaborative research projects and other related scientific activities such as workshops and global research alliances (i.e. GFRA, GARA), through the CRDF Global Solutions - IMPACT program.

Approach:
The ARS Office of International Research Engagement and Cooperation (OIREC) supports global research and facilitates strategic partnerships to economize, share, and expand research capacity for the U.S. and partner countries and organizations. These synergistic collaborations provide direct benefits to the U.S. food, fiber, and fuel economies, and foster long-term productive relationships with the international community. OIREC also supports the ARS overseas biological control laboratories (OBCL) to defend the U.S. by partnering and supporting research internationally. CRDF Global will provide coordination and support for scientific consultations and conferences between U.S. scientists and international scientists. Additionally, CRDF Global will provide project support for U.S. and international scientists to facilitate the process of obtaining preliminary data on targeted collaborative research on agricultural pests and diseases with the goal of promoting collaborative research and the exchange and dissemination of scientific information.
