Objective:
Identify the dietary history spotted lanternfly nymphs and adults captured in specialty crops.
Approach:
Molecular gut content analysis will be used to identify the dietary history of captured spotted lanternflies. Universal PCR primers will be used to amplify plant DNA present in the insects’ guts. The amplified DNA will be sequenced, and dietary history determined from sequence analyses.
