Objective:
Objectives include: 1) Finding suitable crosses pyramiding multiple major and minor genes; and 2) Combining marker-assisted selection (MAS) and doubled haploid (DH) process to accelerate the development of Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) resistant germplasm and varieties.
Approach:
With 20 seeds from each cross, a total of 1,000 lines (4 programs * 2 crosses each program * 125 lines per cross or more breeding programs with 1-2 crosses) will be produced in the first year. Seeds will be increased and distributed to participants.
