Objective:
Our objective is to incorporate Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) resistance into our spring wheat breeding program to produce FHB resistant varieties.
Approach:
We will use classical breeding approaches where we cross our MT adapted varieties to parents with Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) resistance and screen the progeny in FHB screening nurseries to identify lines resistant to FHB. We will also use marker assisted selection to assist with incorporating resistance alleles into the breeding programs.
