Objective:
The objective for this project is to enhance the transfer of technology and research findings to nursery growers in Ohio and surrounding areas. We will work with cooperator to provide workshops, research demonstrations, and collaborative efforts in writing trade journal articles and related publications. These activities, supported by extension experts, will improve grower awareness of ARS research and enhance adoption of new ideas, approaches, and concepts in nursery crop production.
Approach:
ARS will provide the Cooperator with funds to support extension activities. A workshop will be planned for November or December 2022. Collaborative research will be planned to familiarize the Cooperator with ongoing ARS projects in Lake County, Ohio, and allow the Cooperator to further disseminate ARS research results. Specific projects that will be targeted for collaboration include ambrosia beetle trapping and control, water runoff and implications for water quality in container nurseries, and Intelligent Sprayer demonstration and evaluation.
