Objective:
The purpose of this agreement is to conduct experimental infection studies of elk with SARS-CoV-2. The data obtained from these studies will provide key information relevant to public
and agricultural health.
Approach:
Elk will be obtained by ARS personnel and will subsequently be experimentally infected in a BSL-3 facility located in Ames, Iowa. Laboratory analyses will be conducted by the NVSL and these analyses will be paid for using an existing APHIS account code that will be provided to VS.
