Objective:
Screen selected exotic potato germplasm in the U.S. Potato Genebank and identify valuable levels of resistance to heat stress.

Approach:
1. Use an in vitro screen to identify Solanum species that have superior ability to tuberize under heat stress conditions. 2. Use a detached leaf bioassay to identify Solanum species that has reduced water loss through transpiration.
