Objective:
1. Coordinate among USDA-ARS, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), and external organizations to facilitate collaborative research to support ERDC goals. 2. Collect field data at Jornada Experimental Range (JER) sites to support basic research on aeolian, fluid dynamic and dryland eco-geomorphic processes. 3. Maintain JER field sites, including calibrating, cleaning, and ensuring operation of onsite instrumentation for ERDC projects. 4. Manage data to ensure data quality and accessibility among research partners and ERDC, including posting data to public data repositories. 5. Conduct analyses to inform data modeling tasks to understand basic aeolian, fluid dynamic and dryland eco-geomorphic processes and their interactions across spatial and temporal scales.

Approach:
1. Maintain Jornada Experimental Range (JER) field sites and instrumentation to support U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) data collection goals. 2. Deploy and maintain meteorological sensor network to characterize and monitor near surface physical processes and interactions with vegetation. 3. Perform analyses of high-resolution surface shear stress data to quantify spatial and temporal dynamics of wind erosivity and its responses to vegetation phenological change. 4. Conduct data modelling and interpretation to test concepts underpinning modification of a drag partition scheme to represent spatial variability of surface wind erosivity. 5. Provide onsite support for ERDC personnel at the JER field sites.
