Objective:
The Cooperator aims to monitor snowpack and soil moisture impacts of fire and management legacies within the long-term Workman Creek Watersheds at the Sierra Ancha Experimental Forest.
Approach:
Through the project, Cooperator and ARS will collaborate to locate, design, install and operate Snowtography stations. Automated remote cameras will capture photographs of snow depth using graduated snow stakes. Automated sensors will monitor soil water. ARS will provide training and customized maps and documentation to empower Cooperator to monitor and maintain the station and will provide personnel support, equipment and supplies for seasonal
