Research Project: Standardization Set Rescan on Near-infrared Spectroscopy

Location: Cell Wall Biology and Utilization Research

Project Number: 5090-21000-071-012-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: May 1, 2023
End Date: Dec 31, 2023

Objective:
The objective is to achieve a rescan of the Cooperator's standardization set of samples (216 total scans) on an ARS NIRS instrument that was the master instrument for the development of the calibration files that ARS (U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center) first helped to establish in 1993.

Approach:
Cooperator will, with ARS supervision, scan their standardization set of samples (216 total scans) on an ARS NIRS instrument (SN59309804) that was the master instrument for the development of the calibration files that ARS (U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center) first helped to establish in 1993. Cooperator personnel will conduct the scans and ARS personnel will supervise and ensure NIRS spectra/data are provided to Cooperator in a spreadsheet.
