Research Project: Linking Soil Carbon Building Practices to Almond Nutritional Quality

Location: Water Management Research

Project Number: 2034-13000-013-013-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Oct 1, 2022
End Date: Nov 30, 2024

Objective:
The objective of this agreement is to assay impacts of soil carbon building practices on orchard soil health and almond kernel quality.

Approach:
To assay treatment impacts, paired orchard treatment and control plots will be assayed using soil biological and chemical analyses and kernel yield and quality analyses. Cooperator agrees to oversee student who will collect soil samples, help maintain field sites and process and analyze soil and kernel samples. Agency agrees to oversee project site, coordinate student training and sampling activities, and synthesize results into reports.
