Objective:
The primary objective of the project is to support active investigation of Henipaviruses and other viral spillover events including the collection of samples and genotyping of virus from the samples.
Approach:
USDA scientist will partner with scientists to investigate spillover events of Henipaviruses and other viruses in Bangladesh. The partner organization is one of the lead in country groups responsible for responding and investigating spillover events of Henipaviruses. This NACA will support the collection, banking and characterization of samples from seasonal outbreaks. Samples will be collected using standard sampling procedures and stored at -80 for further research.
