Research Project: Hydrological Modeling in Support of Lower Mississippi River Basin Long-Term Agroecosystem (LTAR) Research Studies

Location: Water Quality and Ecology Research

Project Number: 6060-13660-009-031-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2024
End Date: Aug 31, 2027

Objective:
Assess the effects of surface hydrography on flooding dynamics throughout the Lower Mississippi River Basin as part of the Long-Term Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) Project network. Products will provide ARS with manuscript-ready data or data that can be shared appropriately through LTAR network channels.

Approach:
Cooperator will work with ARS scientists to develop, process, and assess models of drainage ditch networks from remotely sensed data sources. Cooperator will conduct HEC-RAS simulations to assess surface water flow patterns.
