Research Project: Continuing Technology Development for Sustainable Land Management, Monitoring, and Research

Location: Range Management Research

Project Number: 3050-21600-001-002-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 1, 2024
End Date: Mar 31, 2027

Objective:
Create a new infrastructure for LandPKS that makes enhancements easier and more cost effective.

Approach:
The requirements for the mobile and web applications are being defined through a collaborative, participatory (co-production) process involving the Bureau of Land Management, ARS, and an ARS technology cooperator. All organizations will, as necessary and appropriate, also directly consult with future users of the applications. ARS scientists are working together with the cooperator to initiate design and development of the technologies, and integration with new and existing ARS tools, including the Landscape Data Commons and EDIT, among others. This agreement is to continue development of the re-implemented LandPKS applications, Soil ID and Monitoring, and support of associated websites and documentation.
