Location: Cotton Production and Processing Research
Project Number: 3096-21410-009-021-R
Project Type: Reimbursable Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Jan 1, 2024
End Date: Dec 31, 2024
Objective:
Moving into the final research season for 2024-2025 cotton ginning season, of primary interest is to put in place the necessary features such that the plastic contamination detection technology we've been developing is readily transferable to industry. A further objective is to assess the results of the2023 commercial trials and solidify the final plastic contamination detection system design and ready it for transfer to industry partners.
1. Analyze results from two “Hand-Intrusion-Events”, HIE methods and the effectiveness of the “autotune” algorithms.
2. Write up the results in scientific publications.
3. Write up a White paper technical note tying all the various pieces together.
4. Assess the results from 2023 season and finalize the design of the system and ready it for transfer to industry partners.
Approach:
Plan of Work
First-Second Quarter:
Analyze data for hand-intrusion-event, HIE, detection systems
Assess best solution for HIE detection and finalize Plastic-Inspection-Detection-Ejection-System, PIDES, system design
Continue work on achieving an automated streamlined deployment of the PIDES subsystems
Backend server systems
Frontend Anvil Web App Server
AI GPU Workstation systems
Second-Third Quarter:
Write scientific papers covering the various PIDES systems.
Continue work on achieving an automated streamlined deployment of the PIDES subsystems.
Third-Fourth Quarter:
Write white paper to provide guidance to industry to help them streamline deployment of the full PIDES systems
Continue work on achieving an automated streamlined deployment of the PIDES subsystems.
