Objective:
Evaluate Salmonella pathogenicity using a gentamicin protection assay. The Cooperator will collect preliminary data for the development of a single-cell DNAseq based version of the gentamicin protection assay.
Approach:
Approximately 100 publicly available Salmonella isolates will be evaluated for the ability to invade or proliferate in one or more mammalian cell lines. The screen will be done using the gentamicin protection assay. Preliminary experiments of single cell RNAseq will also be designed.
