Location: Coastal Plain Soil, Water and Plant Conservation Research

Project Number: 6082-13000-011-004-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 1, 2025
End Date: Dec 31, 2026

Objective:
The project will focus on improving water management strategies in southeast USA cropping systems that include corn, soybean, cotton, and winter cover crops. The research will investigate the cumulative water use of these cropping systems and develop climate smart practices that maximize efficient use of water resources.

Approach:
Investigator and Cooperator will work together to improve southeast USA cropping systems to address the objective above: 1. Determine the cumulative water use of different cropping systems. 2. Develop climate smart water and nutrient management practices. 3. Publication and dissemination of research products to reference journals and databases.
