Research Project: Improving the Resiliency of Southeast USA Cotton Production Systems

Location: Coastal Plain Soil, Water and Plant Conservation Research

Project Number: 6082-30100-001-027-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 1, 2025
End Date: Jun 30, 2026

Objective:
The project will focus on evaluating experimental cotton breeding lines to improve the resiliency of southeast USA cotton production systems. The research will collect extensive yield and fiber quality performance data on experimental cotton breeding lines. This agreement will complement the parent project by: (1) determining the yield and fiber quality performance of experimental cotton breeding lines; and (2) provide relevant information for the development of predictive breeding models.

Approach:
Investigator and Cooperator will work together to improve southeast cotton production systems to address the objective above: 1. Determine the yield performance of experimental cotton breeding lines. 2. Collected plot samples will be ginned to determine fiber quality performance.
