It is a major cause of abortion in dairy cattle, particularly in California. Until recently, transmission from mother to fetus was the only recognized natural mode of transmission. Recently, the resistant stage of this parasite (oocyst) was found in dog feces. The importance of the recent discovery and the economic impact of bovine neosporosis are discussed in this paper. |
