Interpretive Summary: Yearling heifers (n=124) were synchronized using either the MGA/PGF (n=60) or the Select Synch (n=64) protocol. Select Synch treated heifers showed a 26% greater heat response (P<.05) than did MGA/PGF treated heifers. The mass insemination conception rate for the MGA/PGF treated heifers was 36% greater than for the Select Synch treated heifers (P<.05). There was no difference between the groups when bred 12-hrs after first detected in heat (P>.05). Pregnancy rates did not differ between treatments (P>.05).
