Technical Abstract: This book chapter, written in Spanish, provides a summary of insect pathogens and how they might be used for pest control. In addition, encapsulation techniques used to formulate Bacillus thuringiensis and other insect pathogens are presented with an emphasis on the use of cornstarch for making granular formulations. Finally, proper bioassays that are essential for determining the effects, both positive and negative, from encapsulating insect pathogens are outlined and discussed.
