Technical Abstract: The Lotus species use a plethora of strategies to maintain populations in diverse environments. Representative species will be used to illustrate the combination of sexual and vegetative modes of reproduction, and annual or perennial growth forms, which create opportunities for this genus to exploit environmental niches.
