The method is based on a volume balance solution of the irrigation flow equations adjusted with three parameters. The parameters are (1) advance time to the end of the furrow; (2) cutoff time; and (3) infiltration and runoff volumes. Values for these parameters are obtained through simulation with the SRFR irrigation model. Performance contours are developed by running the adjusted volume balance model for a wide combination of inflow and furrow length combinations. These contours can be used for design and management purposes. The method is simple and easy to use. |
