The nematode causes an annual production loss of $407 million. The key to long term management of soybean cyst nematode is early detection. Once detected, various production practices including crop rotation with nonhost crops and planting of resistant varieties can be used to minimize crop loss to the soybean producer. Thus, growers can maximize their production efficiency and profitability. The information in this manual provides the tools needed by soybean producers to increase their awareness of soybean cyst nematode and the action needed to control the nematode. |
