Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Lambda-cyhalothrin (Karate), a synthetic pyrethroid, and diflurbenzuron (Dimilin), an insect growth regulator, have recently received registration for use against the RWW. Karate will be used as an adulticide and Dimilin will be used as an ovicide. Experiments were conducted to test the efficacy of Dimilin in large plot trials. The spatial and temporal patterns of abundance of adult weevils in rice fields were characterized. The times of arrival, time(s) of peak abundance and spatial distributions of adult RWW were determined.
