Many of these compounds have exhibited potent cellular antiproliferative or cytotoxic activities. Sponge extracts which produce distinctive patterns of differential cellular growth inhibition in the National Cancer Institute's 60-cell antitumor screen have been selected for detailed chemical study within our laboratory. The latest results from bioassay-guided fractionation of these sponge extracts and structural elucidation of the active constituents will be described. |
