Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei, is a serious pest of coffee throughout the world. Endemic to Central Africa, it has now spread to most coffee growing regions throughout the world. Our laboratory is working on the use of fungal insect pathogens and plant endophytes for biological control of this insect. A review of the literature dealing with fungal biocontrol of H. hampei, as well as preliminary results from research conducted in our laboratory will be presented in the poster.
