Technical Abstract: This is a catalog of the Cerococcidae or false pit scales of the world. The family includes 10 genera and 88 species that occur primarily in the northern hemisphere on Fagaceous hosts. Only one genus occurs on Juniperus, the rest are on Quercus or close relatives.
