The F2 offspring were inoculated with 104 sporulated oocysts of E. maxima at 4 weeks old. Body weight gain, fecal oocyst shedding, plasma NO2- + NO3-, carotenoid, and interferon-g concentrations were measured at three different time periods post-infection. Seventy-two chicken microsatellite markers with an average marker interval of 50 cM were used for genotyping of the F1 and F2 chickens. Nested analysis of variance based on single marker was used in statistical analysis. The results displayed that there were several marker loci associated with disease associated- parameters. |
