Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Sites, water resource site analysis software, is the dam design/analysis software used by NRCS for design and analysis of earth dams. The software is unique in its ability to analyze vegetated earth auxiliary spillways and evaluate the potential for breach due to erosion. Recent upgrading and updating of the software included placing the software in an integrated development environment that allows interactive evaluation of both simple and complex watershed conditions. The environment consists of a full graphical user interface for the SITES software, with extensive help to guide the user through data entry and interpretation of output. The environment allows a user to interactively compare and contrast design alternatives. This report environment allows a user to interactively compare and contrast design alternatives. This report reviews key features of SITES and provides a guide to use the Integrated Development Environment effectively.
