Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Irrigation is a necessary part of deciduous tree fruit production through- out the world and is a key component in providing a stable and high quality product for the marketplace. The competing demands for water from urban areas, industry, and recreation sources, in addition to the degradation of water sources from salinity, erosion, and overuse drive agriculture to find more efficient ways of providing water to tree crops and to make the most efficient use of natural resources.
