SENSITIVITY AND RESISTANCE OF THE TOLUCA VALLEY POPULATION OF PHYTOPHTHORA INFESTANS TO FUNGICIDES. PHYTOPATHOLOGY. 91(6):S33. 2001. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Distributions of sensitivities to mancozeb, dimethomorph, propamocarb hydrochloride, fluazinam, cymoxanil, metalaxyl, and azoxystrobin fungicides of the sexual Phytophthora infestans population from the Toluca valley were determined on 50 single lesion isolates. Sensitivities (EC-50 distributions) were obtained in radial growth assays on Rye-B agar amended with the respective fungicide at a range of concentrations (0.0, 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 micro g/ml a.i.). Baseline distributions show that the population is most sensitive to azoxystrobin. Exposure of the late blight population in an experimental plot of 5 x 10m to 6 applications of azoxystrobin did not result in a shift of the distribution of EC-50 values. |
