Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This review of the use of microbial pathogens for insect control lists the various fungi being developed to control various insect pests and describes the mode of action and methods for producing these promising biological control agents. Advances in the development of appropriate production technology for these agents and evaluation of alternative approaches to the use of these fungal biocontrol agents is discussed.
