Over the last decade, vegetable oils and their derivatives are increasingly being considered as promising candidates to substitute fossil fuels in specific applications. However, oxidative and low temperature stability of vegetable oil is still an area of active research to qualify in competitive industrial oil market. The paper presents the effect of vegetable oil structure on chemical/performance properties and their response with additives and other functional fluids. An integrated approach involving molecular structure, statistical analysis and molecular modeling is presented to quantify the physical and performance data from laboratory-simulated environment. |
