Abstract p. 101-103. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157 diagnostic accuracy is not determined solely by culture method. How samples are obtained and handled, the type of sample (hide versus feces, for example), experience of diagnostic personnel, etc. may also influence the outcome of a test. Increasing sample size generally increases the sensitivity of a culture method, as well as increasing the cost and difficulty. |
