Technical Abstract: The 10th International Congress on Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions was hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in July 2001 by Sally Leong. Over one thousand scientists from 41 countries were in attendance. Major progress was reported on the biology of disease resistance in plants and, for the first time in history, whole genome analysis of several plant pathogens. A teaching workshop was also hosted. This volume of Biology of Plant-Microbe Interactions presents contributions of 61 scientists from this field.
