Technical Abstract: Monodontomerus osmiae Kamijo, an Old World parasitoid of megachilid bees in the genus Osmia, is reported for the first time in the New World. These gregarious parasitoids were found at an artificial nest site in Silver Spring, Maryland. In Japan, M. osmiae attacks several species of Osmia, one of which, the Japanese hornfaced bee, Osmia cornifrons Radoszkowski, has been released in the United States to aid in apple pollination.
