Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: An analysis was conducted of the hydrocarbon fraction of the cuticular waxes from two introduced biocontrol agents of leafy spurge, Aphthona lacertosa and A. nigriscutis. The adult beetles had a complex mixture of hydrocarbons on their cuticular surface consisting of alkanes, methylalkanes, alkenes and alkadienes as determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
