Technical Abstract: Functional foods and nutraceuticals have assumed importance to consumers, the food industries and the general public. This article is a review of a book addressing the role of lipids in functional foods and nutraceuticals the latter of which is defined as a substance that has real or perceived health benefits. The subject matter of the book is discussed in detail and its content is assessed with regard to the needs of lipid chemists and food technologists.
