A rapd marker linked with resistance to beet curly top virus in common bean. Bean Improvement Cooperative Meeting Abstracts. 46:28. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: A RAPD marker directly linked (0.0 cM) with a dominantly inherited Beet curly top virus (BCTV) resistance gene was identified in a recombinant inbred snap bean population (Moncayo/Primo) consisting of 94 F5:7 lines that had uniform segregation for disease reaction to BCTV across three field locations. The RAPD marker was converted to a SCAR marker and mapped within a cluster of disease resistance genes on linkage group B7 of the core map. A survey of 112 BCTV resistant and susceptible bean cultivars and breeding lines revealed the SCAR would be highly useful for MAS of the resistance gene in snap bean and dry bean of Andean origin. |
