Evidence of a genomic recombinant virus between bcmnv and bcmv. Bean Improvement Cooperative Meeting Abstracts. 46:22. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: An isolate of BCMNV from Kimberly, ID was initially identified using ELISA and dry bean host range studies as the NL-3 strain. However, the isolate, designated NL-3 K, differed from the standard Drijfhout strain (NL-3 D) across some bean lines by causing more severe symptoms of mosaic, vein necrosis, chlorosis and stunting. Deduced amino acid sequence data obtained near the 5' terminal of the P1 region revealed the NL-3 K strain to be a genomic recombinant between NL-3 D and the Blackeye cowpea strain of BCMV. |
