Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Mice that spontaneously develop polyps were used to determine if whole almonds, almond oil or defatted almond meals protect against colon cancer. The mice were fed for 85 days and the GI tract was examined for polyps. No difference was found in the number of polyps. Expression levels of anti-proliferative genes were highest in the whole almond diets. |
