Citation: Marshall, L.K., Bosch, D.D., Lakshmi, V., Jacobs, J. 2004. Temporal and spatial variance of soil moisture across a southeastern coastal plain watershed. [Abstract] ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Meeting. Oct. 31-Nov. 4, 2004. Seattle, Washington.

Interpretive Summary: Estimates of soil moisture conditions are critical to accurate assessments of conditions at the earth's surface. Soil moisture measurements were collected at fifteen locations throughout the 334 km2 Little River Watershed, near Tifton, Georgia over a one year period. Soil moisture measurements were made from 0 to 1 cm and from 0 to 5 cm depth intervals. With bimonthly sampling events, temporal and seasonal variances were examined. Spatial variability was found to be influenced by vegetation and topographic position.
