Molecular evidence of cryptic species within polyphagous liriomyza leafminers. Meeting Abstract. 1:11/14/2004:Salt Lake City, ESA, Symposium. Interpretive Summary: N/A Technical Abstract: Liriomyza leafminers are notorious pests of vegetable and flower crops in the US and around the world. Recent investigations using mitochondrial sequence data have found that the three most damaging polyphagous Liriomyza pests are comprised of highly diverged mitochondrial clades suggestive of cryptic species. Evidence from nuclear genes for cryptic species within polyphagous Liriomyza pests will be presented and discussed. |
