Technical Abstract: This collection of articles provides an account of six presentations delivered at the 19th International Conference of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) in a symposium session on Molecular Systematics and Diagnosis, organised, chaired and edited by Robin B. Gasser and Dante S. Zarlenga. The focus was on recent advances in molecular tools for specific and genotypic identification, diagnosis, systematics and population genetics, with special emphasis on investigations of parasitic nematodes and protists.
